April 10, 20206 yr Hi everyone I hace been a FSX simmer for a long time, until I tried xplane11... cuantic jump... still i am finding some issues with my setup... if by anychance there is some one with the same thing and has solved the following issues, please contact me. Here we go: basically i am trying to run Xplane 11 with the software of Project Magenta (for the b737) and as hardware Opencockpit (MCP, EFIS, etc) Problems i am finding: 1) With the the laminar B737, The Automatic pilot does extrage things to pitch when engaged, especially in a leveled flight attitude, it starts to do wild ups and downs, trim gets crazy, i guess is a syncronization issue with the trim really but despite of thinking about it a lot i have no idea of how to solve it. 2) with the zibo planes (737) The autopilot is working much better, although i have seen that in final ils approaches it also has some errors (capturing and following glisde slope mainly), Autothrottle does not work, Course does not work (i.e. despide turning the knob (in the opencockpits MCP) the radial does not move, although seems to try, something is preventing it to move, and only moves if touching the zibo course button directly on the sim... it looks project magenta and zibo are not connecting properly on those controls (course and autothrottle). Any ideas will be very wellcome, thanks a lot

April 24, 20206 yr Author Hi, thanks for that info very useful, a lot of things together.... but i think i have solved it.... here is the thing for anyone with Opencockpits (may be with some other hardware, i have a friend doing some tests with FSBUS)... Well, the best solution so far (still doing some more tests with some other software) is ocusbmapper., with some tricks 1.- i have installed just for the sake of a try the file for the mcp (i guess it will work with the rest of modules, but did not try yet) I have installed in a copy of the laminar b737 (did not try in the zibo one yet) 2.- If using Project Magenta software, make sure you DO NOT start the projectmagenta MCP (this is the key for seeing all working fine), GC and CDU work perfectly fine integrated with xplane 11, but not the MCP. and that´s all, finally enjoying xplane11, projectmagenta and opencockpits hardware to its full extension take care all out there
April 27, 20206 yr Author After some more test, leaving Projectmagenta MCP aside, has its implications, being mainly that some autopilot modes are not working line Lnav etc so you need to fly just with heading... and some of the GC indications are incomplete or missing i.e. when making an ils approch when gs is acquired (the sceen of xplane will indicate, bit not the projectmagenta GC, this is becuase both CDUs (PM and XP) are working in parallel and pretty much independently... conclusion: it would be great if the mcp worked... but it does not... talked to Enrico Schriatti and said, mcp config need to be manually adapted with drastic chage in some of the parameters provided the xp flight model is quite diffrent to that of the FSX or other b737 models). after several hours touching here an dthere i did not manage to make the b737 doing crazy movments when SP is engaged... will keep posting findings
May 13, 20206 yr Author Well Enrico from project magenta has uploaded a model of the b737 ng for Xplane 11, doing some tests now, i managed to skip the wild banks and pitches, but the precission approahes do something wrong in short final, trying to find out, the rest seems to work pretty fine
September 15, 20214 yr Hi Ehemad, you are still with xplane11 + project magenta + opencockpits. I'm starting with all of that now and I find myself a bit lost. I have everything working with Prepar3d v5, but I have problems with the flight of the 737PM, in the descent there is no way to contain the speed and in APP it does not stabilize in the GS, it hunts the locator and the GS, but when it approaches the runway loses. I'm sorry for my English, thanks from Spain
