April 17, 20206 yr I am not using enhanced atmosphere. Clear skies and I'm getting a solid 60FPS but the addition of a very sparse layer of clouds and it is dropping me to 20FPS. Turning off cloud shadows doesn't change a thing. I haven't seen any one else complaining about this so I'm thinking I have a isolated issue with my system. 9800X3D | 5090 | 64GB DDR5 | LG C2 42"
April 17, 20206 yr I had such an issue a while ago, only with the clouds. I found out it was an issue with the transparency antialiasing in the Nvidia settings. Maybe this helps. April 17, 20206 yr Author Thanks for the tip. Antialiasing transparency was off but I may try a different driver. I updated my driver yesterday and I'm almost positive I wasn't seeing this kind of performance impact when I first installed v5. 9800X3D | 5090 | 64GB DDR5 | LG C2 42"
April 18, 20206 yr Strange, i tried today with different number of cloud layers. with five layers overcast I was surprised to see little difference in performance. Always in the 50-60 fps and 3.5 gig of vram. I really had to increase some settings to extreme values TO GET A HIT. I rolled back to 445.75 and with a full overcast layer I'm holding 60FPS. I'm a happy camper again. 9800X3D | 5090 | 64GB DDR5 | LG C2 42"
