  1. Lived my whole life in Boise and I'm super grateful to have a high quality KBOI. The model is a tad outdated (moved/new taxiways, buildings and parking structures) at this point but the airport has had, and current has, a lot of growth with the influx of people to the area. That being said, it doesn't really bother me that it hasn't been updated because it would just become outdated again fairly quickly. There is a large $700M project to add a concourse and gates that keeps getting pushed back but should be starting 27-28.
  2. Here is a link to trick Contrail into thinking 2020 is installed so you have access to all of your 2020 products. https://support.contrail.shop/article/142-faking-installation-of-the-simulator
  3. Welp, I tried everything last night and couldn't get the head tracking reset binding to work. Did it again this evening and it works now. No idea what was going on but I now have the same key binding for CP to turn on head tracking and the MSFS to reset head tracking so whenever I turn it on it resets to my current head position. Works seamlessly.
  4. Hmm, I just purchased this and installed about 2 hours ago. I will reinstall and see if it is a new build. Just to clarify, you have a key binding to "RESET EYE TRACKING" in the sim settings and it works to reset your head position when using head tracking in Chaseplane?
  5. I'm having the same issue. The "reset head tracking" setting in the sim wont work since Chaseplane overrides all sim key bindings. I can't find an option for this setting within the Chaseplane. Really happy with it so far but if I move in my seat and then reactivate head tracking in Chaseplane my view is all skewed. I have put in a help ticket to let them know it is kind of a pain.
  6. If it is the sound issue I was experiencing, disabling Nvidia's audio drivers has resolved it on my end. Though, this is not a solution if you are utilizing your GPU for audio. I run my monitor/TV speakers for normal daily usage but when I play games I run a dedicated sound setup. For me, even if I was using the alternate audio output, I still get this issue if I don't disable the Nvidia driver. Worth a shot for anyone to try. Hopefully others see the same results.
  7. Sounds like we are having the same issue, which @SayAgain seems to describe in more technical detail. All textures were basically unloading and if I had a stagnant view for 10-15 seconds and then looked elsewhere, it would have to reload all of the textures. RdrThread would get hammered and FPS would drop to 20-30 for 3-5 seconds until everything was loaded again and my FPS would return. Are you running the beta? If so, opt out and see if it is fixed. 9800x3d/4090 here and it seems to be a pretty common issue with similar hardware and the beta update last week. I have yet to try the update today but I got fed up and reverted to SU2 over the weekend and it fixed my issue.
  8. Is this a fix for the horrendous RdrThread issue that is plaguing folks? I had to revert to SU2 because it was like the cache wasn't holding textures after a short period. If I didn't look left, for example, for 10-15 seconds and then I glanced over it was like it had to reload every texture that came into view. RdrThread would max, frames would drop to 10-20 for 3-5 seconds while everything re-rendered. If this workaround mitigates that I may have to opt back into the beta and give it a whirl.
  9. Shoot, I must be doing something wrong. No luck here. https://imgur.com/IozXspy
  10. This is fantastic news. It's irrational how much it bothered me knowing the registration was visually screwed up on the outside of the aircraft even when I was in the cockpit and I couldn't see it.
  11. I use PowerToys workspaces app. It allows you to open a set group of programs with a hotkey or a desktop icon.
  12. I ended up buying KBOI again directly from Verticalsim's site during their holiday sale. I use it so much I could justify purchasing it twice and supporting the dev.
  13. Has anyone figured out a solution to removing or hiding the dynamic registration in 2024? I just installed the Flysimware C414 and they seem to have solved the issue since their liveries have painted on registrations. When I use the FSR500 with repaints in 2024 that were made for 2020 the sim will add a random dynamic registration over the painted one and it's usually a wacky color/font as well. I've read some things about it on the official forums but nothing I've tried seems to work. I did a little digging through the C414 .cfg files to see if I can find their trick but I'm no expert there so I'm coming up a bit empty handed. I know we have some repaint experts around here so I was curious if there is an easy tweak that can be done.
  14. I have a 9800X3D/4090 setup and I don't really run any background programs so I thought I would be fine with 32 since it wasn't being conveyed that I was even utilizing what I currently had. Windows starts managing RAM well before you are completely depleted so you may get a false sense that you aren't needing more than XXGB of memory. I just switched to 64 this week and have noticed MSFS2024 is now utilizing up to ~39GB and it has alleviated some of the scenarios where I was experiencing stutters before. It may "work fine" with only 32 but for some people there is definitely a benefit to having more.
  15. FYI if you use Xbox Game Bar to take screenshots it will save an HDR (.jxr) screenshot and a regular (.png) screenshot.
  16. I use FaceTrackNoIR as my interface instead of the native Tobii solution and I feel it gives a much more accurate/snappy feel. It also allows the ability to fine tune the axes and sensitivity.
  17. Microsoft doesn't usually get updates to the Marketplace very quickly. The developer distributes the update to vendors and then you're at the mercy of said vendor on when they push the update to their platform. This is the main reason I usually purchase directly from the developer or use ORBX/Contrail.
  18. On their Discord it kinda sounds like it could come out in the next day or two. The said likely this week and they are fine tuning some things and getting it out to vendors. Said they would give a heads up around 12 hours before release.
  19. Any chance you can elaborate on this? Is this still just using the old ARPC sky mod?
  20. I'll second this. Back in the hanger it goes. From the beginning I have tried so hard to like this thing and just convince myself it is unique, but at the end of the day it just feels unlike any other aircraft I've ever used in any flight sim. Some aspects are improved but it is still completely unenjoyable in my opinion. At this point I'm tempted to just count my loses and buy the Carenado one so I at least have a PC12 to fly.
  21. Anxious to hear some feedback.
  22. Same, really excited to give the update a spin. I have a soft spot for the -12 and really tried to enjoy it after launch but finally got fed up with it and haven't flown it in months. Visual model, systems and sounds are fantastic but having some random wacky ground handling and/or insane side slip got old. I just felt like there was no consistency with the way it would behave.
  23. I use FaceTrackNoIR as my software interface instead of the Tobii software and MSFS integration. I think it provides a better experience, more options to tweak and would allow you to have it disabled at the start of your flight.
  24. Yup, looks like that is the default binding. For some reason I didn't think it had a binding set by default.
  25. Easiest way to do this for any plane is map a control for "VFR Pilot View Save" and use that. In the past I would edit the .cfg but this keyboard command will override the default camera position.
