Michael, On the very bottom of the MobiFlight menu, there are three click spots (modules, sim status and aircraft). Afetr you loaded the Maddog profile for your aircraft, click on the aircraft click spot and then click "link current configuration". You can then click "auto-load config". Hopefully once you start MobiFlight, that should prevent you from having to restart to get the Maddog profile working.

Yes on Flightsim.to there are profiles for the Maddog, both for the FCU and MiniFCU. Just search MobiFlight from the home page and you’ll find profiles for many of the popular 3rd party airliners. Also includes easy instructions on how to download, setup and run. Not hard at all.

For someone considering Spad, that's exactly where I'd send them - over to the discord channel. 😆 It's like a giant IT convention. It would not surprise me if the majority of those folks spent most of their time programming and trying to code Spad, than flying. I'd also tell a noob to watch a few videos on LVARS, BVARS, H:Events and see what they think. Not simple by any stretch. But, I will agree with you. If you can put in the time and effort to learn it (and have the aptitude) it can be a powerful tool. I did find a few planes that with the multipanel and Spad, just never worked (my "hit and miss"). And one other nice feature. MobiFlight is free, Spad is a subscription. To each his own and glad we have choices!

So, just a quick follow-up as promised. - Received my WinWing FCU Unit1. Arrived 6 business days after ordering. Packaging was very good and the unit is a nice size and quality. Just plugged in the UBS and it was ready to go. Used a bit of double sided Velcro tape and it is now sitting atop my Alpha yoke. Treated right, don't see any reason why this unit shouldn't last for quite a while. - Did a quick download of the SimApp to make sure the firmware was up to date (then turned it off), and downloaded MobiFlight. - Spent about 30 minutes playing with MobiFlight and watched a couple of videos to get the hang of it. - Within 45 minutes I had a bunch of profiles for planes I like to fly from Flightsim.to, and even started to do a bit of custom programming myself. Loading the profiles is super simple. No offense to those who enjoy Spad.Next, but I'll never go back. I own a Mulitpanel (if anyone wants one for a song, let me know) and always felt like you needed advanced programming/coding skills to use Spad.Next. Huge complex learning curve and it was very hit or miss as to whether it would work or not. MobiFlight seems so far to be just as useful (if not more) for programming peripherals - far more easy to use and a much much better UI. So not a spokesperson here, but if you were on the fence and considering either the WinWing Unit or Mobiflight I can highly recommend.

Pulled the trigger on the WinWing, as I think the Mobi/flightsim.to integration will be helpful for me with the planes I fly. (btw, as noted the miniFCU is still sold out). I'll give an update on how long it takes to receive and impressions on setting up.

Tired of trying to be a programmer with Spad, so I think you guys have convinced me. Appreciate the feedback!

So I currently have a Saitek Multi Panel unit and have been using Spad.Next snippets that others create to get it working. I'm finding it more and more difficult to get it to work properly with newer aircraft (I fly mostly commercial payware). Seems like you have to be a fairly serious programmer to customize Spad, and I'd rather spend my time flying than trying to figure out LVARS and BVARS. (Btw, tried AAO's and that didn't work with the Multi Panel either). Thinking of investing in a WinWing FCU and leveraging Mobiflight and flightsim.to profiles. While not completely plug and play, from what I've read it seems like a much easier solution to implement. Would like to hear from others that are using WinWing and what your experience is. Is it a better alternative or would I just be trading one headache for another? Thanks for the feedback!

FSS E-Jets Route Review How to?

Yes, undersell and over deliver always a better strategy. Solid roadmap and frequent communication updates, shows the developers continue to put in the work. -
FSS E-Jets Route Review How to?
caneman replied to Peter Z KCLE_EDDN's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
Some would say it is, as it doesn't have VNAV implemented and they they are still working on a few other FMC updates as well. That said, I'm a fan and think its a very enjoyable and polished plane. As IRL the systems are highly automated, making pre-check to taxi pretty easy. EFB is detailed and intuitive as well, with good integration to Navigraph. My big wish list, is for someone that knows Spad.Next to create a snippet for the Logitech multipanel. That would make it even easier to fly! -
Going to try short range airliner

I'm a fan of the FSS EJet series (170/175), even though it gets knocked for not having VNAV. Quick and easy checklist, good EFB, decent FMC. Lots of real world short routes to replicate. -
KASE (Aspen/Pitkin County) New Release
caneman replied to caneman's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)
It is, but I think this version adds a number of new features, improves ground features etc. Currently priced at $7.62 at iniBuilds, so fairly cheap for an upgrade. Just curious if anyone has installed yet
