April 21, 20206 yr Hello, It appears the Dash 8 uses the Shift-1 combination to bring up the full empty front view. When I do this, I get just the top 2/5's of the forward view, below it is black empty screen. If I hit the Next Panel View (W), I get the full empty view, but this time w/ the analog gauges stretched across the bottom. If I hit W Next Panel one more time I finally get what I'm hoping to, which is the full screen empty unobstructed view. Can anyone guide me on how to eliminate these key presses and get right to what I'm after on the first press? I'm hoping I can edit the panel.cfg file to get straight to the correct panel view by hitting the Shift-1 combination or other w/ just the one press. Thanks in advance. I tried the Majestic forum but no answer was provided, instead I was told what I should expect depending on which version I have, versus how to make an edit to solve this minor annoyance. Shift-A (keyboard shortcut for previous view in current category) should get you there. I have A and Shift-A (as well as S/Shift-S) mapped to buttons on my yoke so I can easily change views. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

I have F10 (2D forward view) on a button and that brings up the full unobstructed view on all of my other 4 planes but w/ this guy no go. Shift-A nor A will bring up this view and this may have to do w/ the version I bought which is the Pilot Edition. But as I say if I bring up the 2/5ths screen and hit W twice the full screen comes up so I have to wonder if the only solution is in editing the bmp file itself, or perhaps editing something in panel.cfg that will fix this for me. I think the support person there was saying this has to do w/ the version I have but he did not attempt to provide a solution. I'll look in a little bit and see if there's a camera definition you can add to your aircraft cfg file. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT
April 21, 20206 yr Author Thanks for that I look forward to a solution! Clearly it's in there somewhere since I can bring it up w/ the W W presses. April 22, 20206 yr @Noel Okay, here we go.... Go to the Prepar3d v4 (or v5) folder in \SimObjects\Airplanes\mjc8q400\panel\ There's a Panel.cfg file. Make a copy of that file as a backup in case you need to restore it. Open Panel.cfg in notepad Scroll to this part of the file: Quote //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window00] //file=cpt_panel_24.bmp Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=1680,1050 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7 visible=1 ident=MAIN_PANEL window_size= 1.000, 1.000 window_pos= 0.000, 0.000 gauge00=mjc84_main!MainGauge, 5,751,129,93 gauge01=mjc84_main!CptPanel_gauge, 0,0,1680,1050 //-------------------------------------------------------- [Window01] //file=cpt_panel_24.bmp Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=1680,1050 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7 visible=1 ident=MAIN_PANEL_ALT1 window_size= 1.000, 1.000 window_pos= 0.000, 0.000 gauge00=mjc84_main!MainGauge, 5,751,129,93 gauge01=mjc84_main!FoPanel_gauge, 0,0,1680,1050 You need to change visible=1 to visible=0 This just changes the default visibility for the two 2D panels in the forward 2D view to off. Once I did that, then when I hit F10 I get an un-obstructed full screen view forward. You have to restart the sim after making the change. Let me know if that does what you want. I don't have the same entries which I imagine is what support was telling me as I have the Pilot edition and you may have the Pro edition. Even so, the fact is I can hit W twice and bring up what I'm looking for so there must be a way!
