April 24, 20206 yr I've looked through the post titles and don't see anyone else reporting this, I just bought the C208 few minutes ago and installed into P3D v4.5 All the external lights that should show on ground either don't show at all or are extremely dim like strobes only reflect on ground at dusk but after dark there's nothing on the ground. Landing lights are just plain dim all the time. Switching both HDR and dynamic lighting on or off makes little to no difference. Is there any fix for this? I have the newest version of the plane (2.1) and the model I bought is the newest C208 EX HD Thanks Geoff
February 14, 20215 yr What about the A2A Simulations 3D lights Redux? Although the package is FSX I use it in P3D v4.5 just fine. And I actually heard about the package from a P3D v5 flyer who was using it. https://a2asimulations.com/product/3d-lights-redux-fsx/ You would of course be manually placing lights but it's not hard to do. February 14, 20215 yr This has been a deal with Carenado every since it was released. I've never found a "fix."

The lights are referenced in the aircraft.cfg (at least they are in the C208B HD Steam Gauge release, which is the release I have). And it is just a matter of assigning an alternative light. For example, today I have used my A2A Shockwave lights. // TBM 14/02/2021 Added shockwave lights as the default are not very bright (although the Landing and Taxi do dynamically illuminate). // Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=Taxi, 7=Recognition, 9=Logo, 10=Interior (or custom?) // Light type, -back +forward, -left +right, -down +up [Lights] light.0 = 3, -17.48, -26.30, 3.92, fx_shockwave_navred.fx //fx_navredcardose light.1 = 3, -17.75, 26.30, 3.92, fx_shockwave_navgre.fx //fx_navgrecardose light.2 = 3, -43.87, 0.12, 1.74, fx_shockwave_navwhi.fx //fx_navwhicardose light.3 = 2, -17.70, -26.30, 3.92, fx_strobecardose light.4 = 2, -17.97, 26.30, 3.92, fx_strobecardose light.5 = 1, -41.75, 0.00, 10.45, fx_beaconcardose light.6 = 9, -11.61, 0.00, 0.98, fx_vclightcardose light.7 = 10, -12.61, 0.00, 2.10, fx_vclightcardose2 //fx_vclightcardose1 light.8 = 10, -15.61, 0.00, 2.10, fx_vclightcardose2 //fx_vclightcardose1 light.9 = 10, -20.61, 0.00, 2.10, fx_vclightcardose2 //fx_vclightcardose1 light.10 = 10, -25.91, 0.00, 2.10, fx_vclightcardose2 //fx_vclightcardose1 light.11 = 10, -11.81, 0.00, 0.98, fx_vclightcardose2 //fx_vclightcardose1 light.12 = 5, -15.6, -17.05, 3.6, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small_xenon // Shockwave light - Landing lights light.13 = 5, -15.6, 17.05, 3.6, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small_xenon // Shockwave light - Landing lights light.14 = 6, -15.6, -17.45, 3.6, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small_xenon // Shockwave light - Taxi lights light.15 = 6, -15.6, 17.45, 3.6, fx_shockwave_landing_light_small_xenon // Shockwave light - Taxi lights And this is what they look like... plus you don't really need Shockwave, any suitable lights from another aircraft would work, I just happen to like the Shockwave 3D effect.
