April 25, 20206 yr Hi, I'm installing a bunch of scenery on a new system. SODE is already installed. I also have GSX2 installed. I'm not interested in editing any jetways at this time. I just want to get files in the correct locations so the scenery behaves properly. The scenery that is causing me to write this is Fsimstudio's CYEG. I install all of my addon scenery in a directory outside of P3DV4. In the scenery folder, I have the typical scenery and texture folders. I have the following: D:\Addon Scenery\FSIMSTUDIOS\SimMarket\CYEG\FSimStudios\FSimStudios_CYEG\SODE\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjects\FSimStudios_CYEG D:\Addon Scenery\FSIMSTUDIOS\SimMarket\CYEG\FSimStudios\FSimStudios_CYEG\SODE\12bPilot\SODE\xml Are these folders supposed to be in the main scenery folder, or was the installer supposed to put them somewhere else? If it is somewhere else, where? If anyone can provide a quick rundown of the file locations and necessary content for SODE with P3DV4 (and using GSX2)? I should probably know all of this by now, but I have so much scenery, I can't remember exactly how everything is structured. This just doesn't look right to me. Thanks! Mine are in C:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE There's an XML folder for the XML file and a simobjects folder for the simobjects folder. As far as I know, there's nothing different to do here for GSX, but maybe others can confirm if I got that wrong. I don't do anything differently with respect to GSX2. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT
April 26, 20206 yr Author Cool. I think the things that threw me were 1. all of those files were in the scenery folder and 2. there is also a SODE folder under Program Files (x86) that doesn't have the simobjects and xml folders. My concern was that the CYEG installer didn't put things in the right place, but now that I have the correct file path, I can see that everything is in there. Thanks! April 26, 20206 yr Some sceneries include a configuration utility that copies the files into the appropriate SODE folders when you select SODE in the config program. So those files might be there legitimately as source files for the config program.
