Until recently I was flying with RC4 ATC window open all the time so I'd know if my commands were recognized, to see the frequencies, etc. Now I wanted even more immersion without ATC window visible. I found out that if the window is not visible than none of my voice commands are recognized. If I show the ATC window and say the exact same thing it's recognized. It is now possible to keep NumLock Engaged and be able to transmit to ATC without re-enabling MCE reco globally.

ATC window auto-hide now working with RC4.

If you need to have a look at the RC4 ATC window content anytime, speak "show ATC" or "display ATC"

MCE will then assume you need to look at it and will temporarily suspend auto-hide until you say "Hide ATC" at which point it resumes auto-hiding.

No doubt it will.

Besides, we've been making refinements to MCE for a decade since first release, while forgetting to charge for all the extras 😛. And there is no end in sight 🙂

The ultimate goal is to make it the most powerful fully interactive crew simulation, with no assumption as to what FO will say or do next other than what you expect him to.

A crew simulation that is fit for pilot recurrent training.

The closest you can get to "shared cockpit" nirvana, without begging someone to share a session with you. And you can do that with 43 complex aircraft. 

Speech reco isn't fun when you have to constrain users to a set of "expected sentences found in a manual".

With users input, we'll get there eventually.

I did a couple of flights and only one small issue remains. The RC4 ATC window, when set to auto-hide (and when spoken "hide ATC"), is flashing instead of staying hidden.

OK, no worries, will be looked at. Wasn't happening on my setup though.

You would normally only see it when MCE needs to make a selection in menu. And even that may not be necessary.

I did a bit of a testing. It's not MCE. It does result in this flickering but the problem is something else. What exactly I don't know. I noticed that the RC4 ATC window is flashing at exact same time as a red text in the upper right corner.

But it also is not ChasePlane fault since the same flickering of the ATC window happens when I disable ChasePlane. I have no idea what could possibly cause this. Bottom line, something is doing something in the back that's causing ATC window to open at the same time as the red text in the upper right corner appears but MCE is set to auto-hide ATC window and is constantly trying to close it, which results in flickering.

I would look into your FSUIPC or LUA assignments for something that may be using same key combo as the RC4 assigned one for showing/hiding the ATC window.

Flashing could be just a result of MCE closing it every time it pops-up (auto-hide feature).

At the very least, go to Radar Contact keyboard settings and change the key combo for window handling.
