Without a career mode or other gaming elements the average gamer will use the simulator for a few days, then it will be deleted and they will never look back. Gamers dont care about cold and dark cockpits, and spending 45 minutes just to get to the runway and fly from a to b.

Exactly, and they have many games to choose from so let them. This here is Flight Simulator. I see no point in attracting and keeping gamers if it means the product morphs into something else.

+1 Jazz.

I'm honestly not bothered if they delete it and never look back. They'll still have paid for it. Won't affect my enjoyment of it. Turning it into a business/strategy game would though.

Loads of strategy and business sims already exist. I already play many of the ones mentioned on the list. Nothing has come out in the form of a MS Flight Sim in like 14 years so let's just have a Microsoft Flight Sim. In the form of a Flight Sim that mostly Simulates Flight.

Don't get me wrong. No problem with gamers, no problem with it being called a game, no problem with it coming out on Xbox. The odd mission or optional mission pack has my support. I did the odd one in FSX and enjoyed them. But I wouldn't want this as a core dynamic of the game.

I think they should have a career mode developed AFTER they get the main sim done correctly.  I agree that a career mode would keep people coming back to play.  Having people get bored and deleting the game doesnt promise as much revenue from in-game purchases.  I'm not opposed to this being handled as an add-on as long as it's done well, just like the quality we see from asobo so far.

I think many of you all are so far behind just look at Cities skyline and see what the game can become on the management side.

Yes we are a little backward in the sim community, we use a flight simulator to fly, you see. Why ? because we love to handle complex machines in a complex environment. That suffices for our happiness.

I’ve managed enough in my life, I want to fly. How  narrow minded !
