Clicking on GPS causes FSX to close

Featured Replies

Hi all. I am fairly experienced with FSX Gold on Windows 10. When I click on the included GPS in the center stack of the panel, my computer freezes before closing FSX and then reopening it to the main screen. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone know how to remedy it?

Is it just this specific airplane?

Carenado has a habit of using the 2d window Window00 as a popup.. something I am not a fan of..

Try this.. Open the panel.cfg file with Notepad and search for ToggleGPS.

You should find two instances.  In both cases, add // to the front of that gauge line and save.

Then try the airplane again.

Thanks Bert! Do you mean the immediate beginning of the line or in front of Toggle GPS?

The beginning of the line.

When I try to save, it says I don't have permission to edit the file.

That is a Windows issue, try running Notepad as Administrator, or change the user access control settings..

You get someone's 14 year old kid to help you.. 🙂

Or try Google.

Does this disable the clickability function? I can no longer click on the GPS to maximize it, but I can still maximize it by clicking Shift+1.
