European/world database

Featured Replies

I’m sorry if this has already been covered (I’m sure it has!)

im using the GTN750, latest upadate of the RXP and the Trainer.

How do I get the international database in the aircraft? It’s working in the trainer!

Which international database are you referring to?

For the GTN you can choose between

; aviation db: 0: nav_db2_grm, 1: nav_db2, 2: nav_heli_db2_grmn, 3: nav_heli_db2

The international database is:
NavDbType = 1

(in the GTN ini file..)

Thanks Bert!

Im based in the UK so I want European Nav data! The US Data is all there but not European.
Where am I looking for the .ini file?

In the airplane folder for the airplane you have loaded.

Or, in the settings app for the GTN, RXP User Manual (!)

Yep just found it! So it’s database specific to each type that it’s installed in, good to know. Thanks very much for the help!

Hi,

I'd suggest you just:

1) Read the RXP GTN User's Manual, or at least, search the keyword "database" in the manual. This will help you gather all useful information about 'database' with the GTN product.

2) In reading the RXP GTN, discover how you can change settings easily with the GUI Settings Panel (instead of manually editing the .ini file).

You might discover features you didn't think about, while answering most your questions at the same time!

PS: yes this is per-aircraft. However, you can also globally override which DB you're using and this is also all documented in the manual (hint: environment variables)
