GNS 530W Power Source

Featured Replies

Hello together,

im new here and bought the W530W plugin for Xplane 11 some hours ago.

Its really good and working perfectly in a Baron 58.

But i have one Question is it possible to switch on the device by Master AND Avionic switch?

At the moment i can chose one of them.

Master then the unit switch on just by the Bat switch.

Or avinoic then the unit powers up just by the avionic switch without the bat.

thanks

Typically, the GNS is wired to the Avionics switch.  The rest depends on the airplane panel wiring..

The RXP unit offers you some options... from the P3D User Manual:

Power Source
Select which power source the GPS is using:
Always On, Avionics On, General Panel On, Main Bus, Avionics Bus,
Battery Bus, Hot Battery Bus, GenAlt #1 to #4

Note:  The XPlane version may differ, check the manual!

Hi,

The XPlane and FltSim versions are both offering extended power source selection, and we're trying to make both as similar as possible so that it helps transitioning from one to the other.

Usually selecting 'Auto' will let the device figuring out what is the aircraft electrical wiring and use the most likely best option, but sometimes it might not be the most appropriate depending on the 3rd party aircraft design.

You might want to try bus sources vs switched sources on X-Plane too.
