But it doesn't seem to work, either in the sim or the trainer - is this just a missing feature or is it me, missing something?

what in these explanations are you not able to replicate more precisely (the article covers many items)?

X-Plane 11.  What I can't replicate is adding the second approach.  It seems to overwrite the first.

This blogger is certainly using the trainer to make screenshots. You might want to ask him which version he his using.

You might want to also review the Garmin GTN release notes on their Aviation website or googling for it. They are changing the routing features from time to time and it can be normal the latest GTN software is not doing what a blogger has posted just 3 months earlier.

It is nothing you are doing wrong. I consider myself quite adept at the GTN and am also unable to execute the steps he wrote.

Thanks Frank - that's all I wanted to know, that I wasn't missing something obvious.  I've spent a bit of time with the 750 and was pretty sure I was doing it right but I've User-Error'd enough to know to check sometimes 🙂
