October 22, 200619 yr What about dawn texturing? I thought I saw a screenshot with lights on at dawn?If this is true I think I am going to buy flight enviroment and ground enviroment pro for my fs9 and stick with that and skip this new addition.
October 22, 200619 yr HiJust an update. Went season to season and found the Winter does use the dusk lighting. Not sure how this every got past anybody. Seems like this would be at base level testing.Bob
October 23, 200619 yr So this is not something ACES removed to improve load time as forky suggested. Anybody has a solution to this?
October 23, 200619 yr Bob, I just did a very quick test and it's not very promising. With location 50 degrees north I set winter and dusk. The lights were on! Unfortunately, it was effectively already night. It was completely dark with no sky glow or ground illumination from the sun (the sun was below the horizon). It may be that at winter the lights will come on when dusk is set, but only because FSX has a rather odd idea of what constitutes dusk.Maybe the lighting is linked to the vertical position of the sun with respect to the horizon. If so,that's where the error probably lies.Best regards, Chris
October 23, 200619 yr "I just tested this in FS9 and DAWN_DUSK_SMOOTHING does have an effect. When set to zero the lights do not come on at dusk. But when set to one the lights are on at dusk - in fact the lights can still be on when the sun is a small distance above the horizon."Thats because its the same as setting Dawn/Dusk Texture blending option on or off in the settings page of FS9You don't need to edit the FS9.cfg to do it.
