Access menus in P3D VR without removing headset

Featured Replies

How do I access menus in P3D while in VR to change aircraft or airfields? For example, I'm flying around Bowerman airfield in a Cessna 172, but want to switch to a Cessna 152.

At the moment I have to take the headset off, access menus on my 2D monitor, and then put the VR headset back on. I simply cannot find a way to call up the menus to change aircraft or airfields while in VR with the headset on.

It is so easy to do in X-Plane 11, Aerofly FS2 and DCS World, where the in-game menus can be called up inside the VR world with a press of the ESC key or a touch controller button (XP11), but for the life of me I cannot find that same functionality in P3D.

P3D doesn't have that functionality, unfortunately. Perhaps FlyInside can open P3D menus while in VR, I'm not sure.

Flyinside van definitely open menus in VR. You can do anything in flyinside for p3d without taking your headset of. It is a marvelous piece of software. Unfortunately the developer isn't the most communicative person in the world to say the least.

I have been using flyinside for p3d for two years and it is stable, it performs well and has great functionality.

Cheers

Awesome, thanks threegreen and Jozeff, now I don't feel so stupid anymore - thought I was missing something obvious. Yes I know FlyInside, have used it in FSX where it worked great. I tried the FlyInside demo in the early days of P3D v4 but could never get smooth frame rates. Perhaps i'll give it another go now that we've had several updates and improvements. Thanks for the advice!
