Bug in the Bloom Effect?

Featured Replies

Hi,I think the new bloom effect in FSX looks really nice. Although, it does take up some resources on my computer, I still get 8-15 FPS on my outdated (but soon to be replaced) computer, with everything maxed. However, I've noticed one thing with the Bloom Effect. When the sun is shining and there are lights along the runway, I can actually see the bloom Effect through the wall in the Virtual Cockpit. If I in the default 747 looks back in the "library" (Where the engineer used to sit in the -200), and the sun is shining there, I can se it through the wall. And when I'm doing the take-off roll on the runway, I can see the center lights running down the VC panels after it is suppose to disappear underneath the aircraft.Has anyone else noticed this? I just wonder if this is a bug or there's something wrong with my installation :-)RaymondNorway

From what I've gathered the bug exists for certain graphics cards. I think an email to ACES would hopefully bring it to their attention, and they may work with the card chipset companies to bring out a driver to remedy this, which has happened in the past.James

Yes, I think if you have problems like your/our GPU's may not be up to the task, at least I don;'t think mine is....6800xt pcieWhenever I turn on bloom my screenis reallly fuzzy, and it seems everything is out of focus, and i get the aircraft's nav light and strobes to show through the aircraft in the bloom effect.
