Can one resume a flight with P2A ATC?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to resume a saved flight with a verified and saved P2A's FPL?

Thanks.

And while I'm at asking questions here - is there 'Say again' or 'Repeat your last transmission' question in P2A's grammar?

Thanks.

Yes and Yes.

To resume a flight, get the SIM set up with the aircraft at altitude along the correct route, then:

  • Start P2A and load the saved flight plan
  • Connect P2A to the SIM and FILE the flight plan
  • Set the Com Radio to the Center Controller.  The frequency should be at the top of the Freq window.
  • Make the initial contact call "<CallSign> at Flight Level xxx"
  • The controller will give you a squawk code and call Radar Contact after you dial it in.
  • All should proceed normally after this.

If you are in the middle of your arrival, it might not work, depending on what the state of your flight is...so try and pause while in the en-route phase with a Center controller.

On the second question, you can say "Say again for <CallSign>" or "Repeat last transmission, <CallSign>"

Awesome, the program has very much matured btw, since how many years now?

Thanks.

At the moment I'd rather like to be able to resume before taxi or at holding short. Is this possible?

Thanks.

You can actually start from the Hold Short position or even on the departure runway.

File the Flight plan and get your clearance.

Then when you switch to ground, tell them you're ready for departure and they'll transfer you to tower.

On an IFR flight, you cannot skip the clearance because that does a lot of work to set up the flight.
