July 9, 20205 yr I have a problem with the default key assignments in UGCX . They interfere with several of my aircraft . For example "Shift U" which which is the command for Launch bar extension on catapault carrier ops. Also the tailwheel lock which I use for my WWII bombers. How can I change the Key assignments in UGCX . Sorry for being such a luddite but I cant find any specific instructions on how to achieve this. Do Hope someone can help
July 9, 20205 yr Commercial Member Hey, yes, you can, but the way it's now it's not user friendly, you need to go to the manual that says about keyassignment, for more details, however, you just need to go to the directory: C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Ultimate Ground Crew X\ You will find the "Ultimate Ground Crew X.ini" file. Open with Windows Notepad, and you will see a section full of hotkey's with (off) value, that means the hot key doesn't have any assignment and is disabled. You can assign something like "Ctrl+Shift+P" (without the quotes). So for example, if you want to set a custom hot key for display UGCX main menu, you would need to change this: OpenMainMenuKey=(off) To this: OpenMainMenuKey=Ctrl+Shift+P and save the changes to the "Ultimate Ground Crew X.ini" file, if you have P3D already open, you will need to restart it so the module can reflect the changes. Have gone to the file as suggested and can find no entries for the key assignments that are mentioned in The "Manual part 4 optional key assignments" which were active when I first loaded the initial . Thus when I set my Launch sequence for a carrier launch "Shift U" I get the "request engine startup non pushback using voice communications " sequence .starting. Ok, from this, I can see that its triggering the UGCX's "engine startup using intercom". By default, that UGCX event is attached to the launch/carrier option in FSX/P3D. You need to decouple these two functionabilities (UGCX and carrier launch). You need to assign a hot key for this event in UGCX.INI which is the one that controls to trigger the "engine startup using intercom", for example, set: EngStartByComsKey=Ctrl+Shift+I And restart FSX/P3D.
