July 17, 20205 yr What would be the best upgrade to my current GTX-1080? Of course it would have to be compatible with my MB that I have now. Bob G. July 17, 20205 yr See if you can install a 11 gig 2080 or wait for the next generation due in Sept or Oct.. I have an 8 gig 2080 and have run out of Vram with P3dV5....wish now I'd spent the extra few hundred at the time and bought the 11 gig version. Dave

July 18, 20205 yr Is the next generation likely to require a new MB? I’m in the same boat and wondering if 2080 with 11gb is the best I can get out of my current MB, or if video cards are now standardized form factors.

With the next generation around the corner I would wait as here in Manitoba prices for a 2080 (both 8 & 11 gig) if anything have increased since i built my machine over a year ago. I suspect you'll get better bang for your money on the 3080. Edited July 19, 20205 yr by dbw1 spelling, as usual, lol.
