July 21, 20205 yr Maxing out the autogen while touring around Rio De Janeiro in the Avro 621, scenery is Orbx with a few addional spices. Cheers Al Shipping, an amazing piece of freeware no one should be without, brings the water to life, the efforts of those who contributed make the package what it is. And finished for the day's flying. July 21, 20205 yr Very nice pictures! Is this any special scenery, or "just" Orbx (Global+Vector+Buildings+South America Mesh + South America LC) and the autogen slider full right? Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11. Is this any special scenery, or "just" Orbx (Global+Vector+Buildings+South America Mesh + South America LC) and the autogen slider full right? Let's see now... Yes there are all the Orbx products you've listed. Plus there's AI Shipping, TerraFlora v2, Rex Texture Direct, Drzewiecki Design HDGrass, Terra Emergence Project v1.6, TomatoShade, ReShade, car/truck ground speed is custom, custom night sky and stars (I know not visible here but at night it's great!), custom water, FreeMesh and probably a few more, I think I should get a spreadsheet together just in case I have to rebuild from scratch. Yes the autogen sliders are maxed, but there is more, the "spice" of being able to control via the prepar3d.cfg with settings such as the below. Spoiler [GRAPHICS]//MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=1000.000000 // default value, 1000000.000000 is max //MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=180000.000000 //MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=320000.000000 //MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=640000.000000 MAX_TEXTURE_REQUEST_DISTANCE=1000000.000000 //OPAQUE_SHADOW_TEXTURE_SIZE=2048 OPAQUE_SHADOW_TEXTURE_SIZE=4096 //TRANSLUCENT_SHADOW_TEXTURE_SIZE=512 TRANSLUCENT_SHADOW_TEXTURE_SIZE=1024 //OPAQUE_SHADOW_DRAW_DISTANCE=2000 OPAQUE_SHADOW_DRAW_DISTANCE=4000 //TRANSLUCENT_SHADOW_DRAW_DISTANCE=2000 TRANSLUCENT_SHADOW_DRAW_DISTANCE=4000 [SCENERY]//AUTOGEN_TREE_MIN_DISTANCE_TO_LOD=2500.000000 //Tree LOD independent of the UI settings - Default 2500.000000 Max 8000.000000 AUTOGEN_TREE_MIN_DISTANCE_TO_LOD=8000.000000 //AUTOGEN_TREE_MAX_DRAW_DISTANCE=95000.000000 //Max distance allowed 12000.000000 - Default 95000.000000 AUTOGEN_TREE_MAX_DRAW_DISTANCE=12000.000000 //AUTOGEN_BATCH/TREE_LOD=2 //Default is 2, setting to 1 will greatly increase the amount of autogen buildings, almost double in some instances and tends to result in too many buildings cramped together, valid values are 1 to 9 with 1 the highest. AUTOGEN_BATCH_LOD=1 [TERRAIN]// Set the autogen to max that can be displayedTERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=6000 TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_VEGETATION_PER_CELL=6000 // Relates to vegetation and how it is placed along side rivers and roads. The default and minimum is 16 and can be set up to 2048 in double values i.e. 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048. // The higher the number the more accurately a curved polygon will be rasterised. 16 equals placement accuracy of ~80 metres, 2048 equals placement accuracy of approx 0.5 metres. Higher values come with more performance costs. // Result will be treelines that accurately follow the curves in roads and bends in rivers as opposed to the old straight lines and angles of before. // Surprisingly setting the value to 2048 appeared to have little performance impact. IMAGE_PIXELS_FOR_AUTOGEN_POLYGONS=2048 People say things like you shouldn't need to tweek a sim config, but I say hey! that's where the power of control is available and I prefer to use the power LM have provided. July 22, 20205 yr Author Just an addendum on this. While flying around Rio I noticed a block of highrise buildings in the water just off the beach. Turns out it the buildings were default objects that end up in the water after Orbx Vector corrects the coast line. And there is a simple fix available over at Orbx, see the below thread. https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/197440-odd-floating-high-rise-buildings/ Before Fix: After Fix: Edited July 22, 20205 yr by Rogen Ryzen 5800X clocked to 4.7 Ghz (SMT off), 32 GB ram, Samsung 1 x 1 TB NVMe 970, 2 x 1 TB SSD 850 Pro raided, Asus Tuf 3080Ti P3D 4.5.14, Orbx Global, Vector and more, lotsa planes too.
