October 23, 200619 yr I had this exact problem with the Demo V2 as well. I never found a fix, and I assume it's down to a lack of resources (!) Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
October 23, 200619 yr Mike (PCPilot62): "turn off the cockpit tool tips"Yes, that seems to cure my problem, and hoping others too! Thank you very much for this tip!!!Menu bar -> Options -> Settings -> Display -> Aircraft -> uncheck "Show cockpit tooltips".MikeAdamo and Orestes33: "hot shade of pink" and "a variety of colors". I noticed that too, see:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/159513.jpgJozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
October 23, 200619 yr Hi Again,I was reading on a separate thread that FSX "needs" both cores from a dual core processor. Are any of you who are getting these color outs running a dual core processor? I know I am and I did set FSX initially to run on a single core versus both. I'm going to try running on both and disable the tool tips to see it that clears it up.M
October 23, 200619 yr "Are any of you who are getting these color outs running a dual core processor?"No, got those colors running on an Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.60 GHz. But after unchecking "tooltips" they are gone. But that does not take away the fact that Microsoft should do anything about it. It's not only me that was suffering that nasty problem. And not using cockpit tooltips is not really a solution, because I like to have those tooltips too. Jozef K. http://homepages.onsnet.nu/~jkusters/signature.jpg
October 23, 200619 yr I'm running a Prescott 3.4 with hyperthreading enabled. But I'm guessing it's not a CPU issue, but rather a video one, since as long as I stay the whole time in windowed mode everything is just fine. I can leave the cockpit to navigate around in menus and then return--no problems. It's a full-screen issue, definitely.
October 23, 200619 yr It happens with me as well. From the look of it, and given the software, it all ressemble to me a time lapse within which FSX is compiling then uploading the shader code to the video card. As soon as it is done, all revert to normal.Hope this helps!
October 25, 200619 yr Thank you for all the excellent suggestions. I think it IS related to tool tips, because I had them off initially and I don't believe I had that issue then. Afterwards, I changed a few settings, and turned the tool tips on, and incidentally, that issue started popping up. Almost identical to posted screenshots, but my sky would turn black and white as well. I am sorry I can't test out the theory right now, since as a result of me tinkering with my card graphic settings my comp locked up, restarted, locked up on restarted, and screwed up the NETLDR file. So, althought I didn't lose any data, I had to reinstall windows, all my got screwed up in the registry, .Net controls, and .dlls became 'unregistered', and I will be having to reinstall practically everything just to make it work. That with 100's of registry dependent addons for FS9 means I will be making the switch to FSX earlier than needed, and have to take leave with my virtual airline. No relevance to this post. Just whining!
