August 18, 20205 yr Hi all, my sim is crashing when trying to load a flight. I purchased on Steam, and have a beefy PC that has never had any issues with any game. I just tried hopping in training to see if it would work, and the game crashes when the load bar is at about 75%. I have even turned down settings to potato quality and taken off full screen, but nothing works. Wondered if anyone else had this issue and/or a fix?
August 19, 20205 yr hey im having the exact same problem and is reallly frustrating i hope someone can actually help us
August 28, 20205 yr I have the exact same problem. I also purchased on Steam but I am sure it is not related to this. I hope this bug will be fixed soon. My Web Site
August 29, 20205 yr What’s your page file set to? I had this same problem until I changed it from something small to the size of my physical RAM. Others have reported solving this by changing it to let Windows manage the page file. James
August 29, 20205 yr I’m on Steam and have never touched the page file. 16 GB Ram and all on Ultra except the render sliders are on 100. 60 hours now in sim and not had a single crash...... and I have been rough with it, in testing and setting up everything to my liking. My secret: I started with a fresh install of Windows. If you can stomach that, your problems will very likely be gone. To prep a drive and install Windows takes less than 10 minutes (SSD). Just make sure you back up the stuff you need! People amass to much junk on their PC’s over time, install little “apps” for this and that. Tweak their other simulators, thinking it won’t affect the new one etc etc. Unless you have a slow internet and redownloading the stuff you actually use is absolutely out of the question, you could be up and running in no time. If it does not work, well you have at least greatly narrowed down potential issues and have a clean faster PC for it. And while you are about it, do not install junk like CCleaner, Malwarebytes and stuff like that. You do not need another Anti Virus either! Windows Inbuilt protection is as good as any, maybe better in some cases and it won’t breakor slow your PC. 😉 Edited August 29, 20205 yr by RaptyrOne GregH Intel Core i7 14700K / Palit RTX4070Ti Super OC / Corsair 32GB DDR5 6000 MHz / MSI Z790 M/board / Corsair NVMe 9500 read, 8500 write / Corsair PSU1200W / CH Products Yoke, Pedals & Quad; Airbus Side Stick, Airbus Quadrant / TrackIR, 32” 4K 144hz 1ms Monitor
August 29, 20205 yr did you check the windows even viewer? What is the error message. (I'm a user of both CCleaner and Malwarebytes, have been using them for years with 0 issues, these two are for sure not the cause).
August 29, 20205 yr @RaptyrOne: I thought about a clean Windows install, this would have helped me during the alpha program because I never could install the alpha because of a mysterious MS Store error and a clean install was the only solution proposed by Microsoft. But it was too much work... Installing Windows is quite quick, but reinstalling and reconfiguring all my apps is a pain... I gave up this idea. I will check my page file and event viewer ASAP. Thanks for your answers My Web Site
August 29, 20205 yr Indeed, the error is reported in the event viewer. No need to copy the error message, my Windows is in French, you wouldn't understand a single word 🙂 Anyway, it says FS crashed because it couldn't access a file but I can't know what file...Maybe a file is missing? My Web Site
