Or is it supposed to behave like freelook after what I set up? Maybe you and Robert are having the same problem... Another thought, I remember seeing a separate control option that contains the word "locked" in the control list, but I chose the one that didn't have the word "locked". But yes, as far as I remember, once I made those assignments I didn't have to do anything else, it just worked. One other thought is that if the hat was already preassigned to another function, did you delete those functions? Unfortunately you have to manually unassign any prior mappings for the hat switch. That could also be the problem. 5800X3D | Radeon RX 6900XT

Im able to look up, down, etc, but it definitely doesnt have that free look pan like p3d where I can just pan and leave it staring at the trim wheel, etc if I wish. Considering the last what, two Microsoft sims had the freelook already set to the hat you think they would have stuck with it. 🤦♂️

So I think you've mapped the locked or lockable version of the look functions instead of the free version. They're both options in the controls menu. Can you screenshot your controller setup? Can you confirm you want this type of panning look around that I did in this video? Want to be sure we're speaking the same language... I had quickview left, quickview right, and the next view/intrusment junk still bound. Once i removed those it did the trick. Thanks for mentioning having to unbind those keys. 👍 I knew it was something stupid that I overlooked. 🤣
August 28, 20205 yr Hi I just got my honeycomb yoke and was able to map the hat switch to be a free look, but it snaps back to center still. I've tried all sorts of settings, but I'm obviously not getting the right one. My mappings look like the screenshots previously posted except I have 7&8 for my pilot position view and 11/12 currently for instrument views. I'd appreciate any help.
December 20, 20205 yr There is a far easier way to do this than what is being listed here.... And I only bring this old topic back to life as it is the first one Google brings up when you search this subject... Clear your current HAT switch settings Simply set your POV hat switch to Camera->Cockpit Camera -> Cockpit Look Down Camera->Cockpit Camera -> Cockpit Look Down Left Camera->Cockpit Camera -> Cockpit Look Down Right And so one for all 8 positions.. To reset your view set Camera->Cockpit Camera -> Reset Cockpit View - to a free button on your controller or default keyboard key is Ctrl+Space which will snap back to forward pilot view position Edited December 20, 20205 yr by CXA007
