August 19, 20205 yr Hi Guys & Gals, hope you are all enjoying MSFS2020 as much as I am. I am beginning to get to grips with it - slowly and patiently. A couple of questions relating to the Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog and Throttle. 1) using the Warthog reverse detent, how do I bind that to the airlines and jets? 2) Is there a method whereby you can get trim up/down to repeat the action when you depress the button - similar to what you can achieve through FSUIPC in FSX and P3D? Thanks in anticipation of any responses. George Westwell
August 19, 20205 yr 1) reverse is a bit different in MSFS in that it uses a button to toggle between regular throttle and reverse throttle (more of an x-plane approach). You could try programming that detent as your toggle, but then you will have to move the throttle forward again to apply reverse thrust. The plus side is you can finely adjust how much reverse thrust you want to use. 2) This happens by default for me when I assign a button to elevator trim...is that not the case for you? I have a Warthog throttle - I know the reverse detents are treated as buttons, so if there is an assignable function for reverse thrust you should be able to do it. But regis9's comment suggests maybe there isn't one. I will try to see if I can configure it on my Warthog a little later (I am currently using my Virtual-Fly TQ6+ for throttles, and it has software that you run alongside the sim that configures the reverse detents for you so they work properly). - Kevin Windows 11 / Ryzen 7 9800X3D / MSI RTX-4080 Super 16G Ventus 3X / Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite WiFi 7 / Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro / 64GB Lexar ARES Gen2 RGB DDR5 6000Mhz CL30 RAM / Dell Alienware AW3418DW WQHD 3440x1440 GSync / Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 2TB (OS) & 860 EVO 4TB SDD / WD Caviar Black 4TB HDD / EVGA Supernova 850 G5 PSU / Be Quiet Light Base 600 LX case / Virpil Warbird base with Constellation Alpha grip / MFG Crosswind rudder pedals / Virtual-Fly TQ6+ throttle quadrant / Winwing Orion HOTAS F-18 Throttle / Virpil TCS+ collective base with Hawk-60 grip / Saitek Trim Wheel / Saitek Radio and Switch Panels / Winwing Combat Ready Panel / Tobii 5
August 19, 20205 yr Author Thanks PurdueKev - look forward to hearing from you if you can find a solution - I am sure there must be one. George Westwell

Well on my Warthog I have bound it to a toggle button... André

It may be that the detent can be assigned to the equivalent of the F2 key in FSX/P3D, but I haven't tried it to confirm if that works or if the toggle has to be used. It's at this point more the xplane way when toggle the axis are used in the forward motion for the amount of thrust.. (toggle throttle reverse thrust) Edited August 19, 20205 yr by awf André

Not being an X-plane user - I am now a bit confused. In P3D - I would retard the Warthog throttle to idle - then physically lift it over the detent and put it into full reverse which worked perfectly as the reverse thrust - and it is this which I hope I can reproduce in MSFS2020. Correct I'm also a p3d user and it's confusing, I prefer the detent way indeed to pull it over, I have even different hardware detent parts to use with different aircaft André
August 19, 20205 yr Ok tested use the throttle 1 decrease and throttle 2 decrease and bind those to your throttle button 30 and 29... Only disadvantage is your going full reverse thrust... André
