August 20, 20205 yr Does anyone think when you are taking off its like there is no sense of speed? Its as if you are standing still going down the runway. I may have something set wrong but it is really bad. Everything looks big and slow when taking off. Any ideas to help or is this just the way it looks for now. August 20, 20205 yr This is only a matter of FOV (field of view). Use your mousewheel to zoom in and out, you will find that zoomed out (large field of view), things will feel much faster. It's the same in any sim. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20
August 20, 20205 yr Try tweaking the relative volume of various things in the options, rather than having everything up full as is the default setting. A lot of what conveys a light aeroplane getting rolling and accelerating, is the sound levels going up, In reality of course you also feel the acceleration, which we don't in the sim, but as Col X points out, you can alter your field of view to improve that a bit.
