Well, I stuck it out with FS-flightcontrol and I'm glad I did. I run it with a map window and a aircraft control window popped out on my 22" secondary monitor that is in mounted and running in portrait mode. The way my system takes screenshots it includes both screens. I usually crop it down to one screen to show what I need but this image shows both my main 2k screen and the secondary screen in portrait mode.

The aircraft controls and systems page is amazing, letting me change and activate coms, navs, control and setup the autopilot, control ATC, control the lights (though I use my Logitech switch panel and multi-panel for lights and AP), see a six pack, control and monitor the engine and other systems, etc. all while the Maps window lets me handle all my map and flightplan duties. I use the Light theme and switch to the Dark theme for night flights. I think it's worth the cost and glad I stuck with it.
