Is it me or is this missing, I do an IFR plan but leave out the approach, when ATC does give me the approach I end up doing the entire approach since there's no Vector to final.

Atc doesn't give directions or altitude changes for final, ILS systems work 1 out of 10 times, no reliable wind, just go and tinker with the preset weather and fly vfr but only if the airport you want is not missing completely! That's how this has been launched.

I’ve had the ILs work every time.

 

ATC is hit or miss. I’ll use In game arrivals and sometime ATC will vector me to correct altitude and sometimes it won’t.

 

I did a short hop last night from Erie Pa to KBUF , once I got to the first Approach vector for runway 27 atc just stopped working all together.

 

they really need to fix it , or I’m hoping a 3rd party atc will come along soon.

In my experience so far I’m more likely to cleared for an ILS approach via a transition waypoint than to actually get vectors.

What I found is this, if you plan an IFR and select only the arrival but leave the approach blank waiting for ATC to give you the approach, by the time they give you the approach you will have to redo the entire approach and are not able to activate vectors to final.

In other words you can do a APR-APR IFR and then ATC will give you the arrival and approach but if you put in an arrival you best put in an approach also until the function to activate vectors to final is implemented.
