Problem in Ultra Setting

Featured Replies

Here are my computer specs:

Intel Core i7-7700 @3.60GHz

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060

48GB RAM

LG 34"  2580x1080 Monitor 60Hz

Spectrum 100-400 MBPS (Not exactly sure)

My problem is I have only 1 prop driven airplane that I can use in the Ultra setting.  The DA-62.  I haven't tried using any jets yet.  But for example when I get everything set up, and click ready to fly, the sim stutters so bad that the engine actually will stop and immediately restart and continues to do so.  It is totally unusable.  But the DA-62 works just fine.  All of the prop airplanes that I have tried in the High End settings are fine.  The recommended setting is "High End".  So maybe I'm just pushing the computer too much.  I don't know what the FPS is.  The average temperature of the computer when running the sim according to Process Lasso is 55*-60*C.  The average processor usage in the High process mode is 45-50%.  I only had is happen one time with one airplane, but a message popped up about not having enough bandwidth.  Haven't had it happen since.  Anyone have any idea as to what is going on???

Is hyperthreading turned on in your bios?  If not, then your 4 cores are not using hyperthreading.  I have an i5-7400 which does not have hyperthreading, and the start of my flights are ALWAYS a stuttery mess as the CPU has to do a lot of crunching around.

I simply sit and wait and use my mouse or POV switch to look around the cabin until the stutters stop.  After which I can usually taxi and have an amazing flight.

You might also want to check your Terrain and Object level of detail sliders as they will control how far out the sim begins to increase scenery detail.  This too is very CPU intensive and if hyperthreading is turned off in your bios, you will get more severe stutters the higher that is set.

I'm getting a 7700 in a couple of days just because it supports hyperthreading and I didn't want to swap out both my CPU and Motherboard.  Maybe that will help with my bottlenecks.

Just curious if you turn the graphics down to say medium or high and then hit Ready to Fly. If it does load up , change graphics back to Ultra ? Would that work

I'll have to check that, as I don't know.

That's something I'll have to try..

Please report this via Zendesk , sticky at the top of the forums here if you need help finding Zendesk. It will only take 5 min to submit the Event Viewer and report.

Just keep it short and sweet though, they can see all the settings / computer specs on the event viewer.
