September 2, 20205 yr Since i am on a low budget and all the cost involved in upgrading my PC, Plus new Joystick and the PC game , i might have cut back a little on the Graphics card which is one of the most important parts to playing the game I ended up buying the XFX AMD Radeon RX 570 (8GB) Graphics Card and to be honest, My first flights flying over lanzarote and its volcanos was giving me 30 FPS and since then my FPS is now averaging 15, I have the FPS set at 30 in the settings and followed a few tips on youtube. I am now thinking of upgrading the graphics card to the AMD Radeon RX 590, But thought i would ask the question on here for anyone running a low end graphics card and any issues and FPS. To be quite honest, even at 15 FPS, I do get good graphics, Yesterday i was flying in a storm in Japan and the clouds were blood orange and amazing, So maybe it might be better sitting to the card that i have and upgrade when the prices reduce on the higher spec cards. The card i bought is a month old, So selling on ebay will see a few pounds lost, But least its got a warranty if anyone buys it. Any thoughts , Tips, Advice or reviews on your own low end card. September 2, 20205 yr My specs are in my signature. But I run a GTX 1660 Super and with GA planes in cities, I get an average of 40 FPS with high settings with 1920 x 1080 resolution. With the A320, I get about 25 to 30 FPS in cities. For what I paid for, I think the GTX 1660 Super is a steal and at least for me, works very well with MSFS (I do close all other apps and programs when I play MSFS). The GTX 1660 Super sells for about $230 to $270. My version has 6 GB of VRAM. If you can wait it out, you should wait for the GTX 3060, which is rumored to be release in November. The GTX 3070 is $499 and the GTX 3060 is rumored to be $400 (or perhaps less). Edited September 2, 20205 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
September 2, 20205 yr Author I was looking at the GTX 1660, It was on par to the 570,, I do the same, Shut all programs down. I am aiming on using 3 monitors and that was one reason for the Radeon RX 570, Its got the HDMI ports to run 3 monitors . I am trying to get to grips with the 787 , Just about got to know the plane, But having issues with Navigation, I am using simbrief to set up the flight plan, But A/P fails to get me to the approach, Plus I can not get simbrief to depart from a gate. Its more learning than flying, But regards upgrading, I would not like to upgrade to the 590 only to find out that its no different

If you suspect buying a new GPU will give you the most benefit though, you should really wait for the GTX 3060, which is rumored to release in November. I think in the NVidia announcement yesterday, NVidia was claiming the GTX 3070, which retails at $499, slightly outperforms the GTX 2080 Ti (these are just claims by NVidia though, nobody has had a chance to benchmark the GTX 3070). So if we assume the GTX 3070 is on par with the GTX 2080 Ti, the GTX 3060, while being a weaker card than the GTX 3070, probably isn't that far behind. I only use 1 monitor so if you are using 3 monitors, it really seems like the GTX 3060 is the best bet for you. There is also the GTX 3050 which will be even cheaper than the GTX 3060 but who knows when the GTX 3050 will be released. Edited September 2, 20205 yr by abrams_tank i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
September 2, 20205 yr i7 7700K RX 480, 8GB 16GB Ram 1080p Settings: MEDIUM preset with buidlings, trees, grass, clouds, textures and windshield effects on HIGH ~40fps in GA aircraft Runs pretty well. Happy with MSFS 🙂 home simming evolved
September 2, 20205 yr Got an 8Gb ATI Radeon RX480. Runs the new sim just fine. Would struggle at 4K but at 1080 I get about 65 fps in flight with the settings on high/ultra. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
September 2, 20205 yr Author Just reading The RX 480 offers better performance than the 570, But should not be that much to lower my FPS to under 20 on flights
