September 10, 20205 yr Hello, Just a quick question to the techguys because i have no clue. I have edited some of the aircraft.cfg files directly in the relating Aircraft folders. So what happens now when i install a mod for this plane into the communtiy folder that has an edited aircraft.cfg file too. My guess would be that the one in the community folder overrides the original one. Is that correct? And if yes, what happens when i have two separate mods installed (for the same aircraft) and both have an aircraft.cfg? One might thinkt it'd be best to merge all together in one file? Has anyone experience with that? Best regards Intel i9-13900K | Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master | RTX4090 | 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 | Be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX AiO | Win 11
September 10, 20205 yr Moderator Last one installed wins. I believe the comm, unity folder entries are read in alphabetically so if you have two of the same the last one wins. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
September 10, 20205 yr Author Ok...so correct me if i'm wrong but that would mean only one mod works if they relate to the same .cfg file? Intel i9-13900K | Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master | RTX4090 | 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-6000 | Be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX AiO | Win 11
September 10, 20205 yr One thing I do is keep a spreadsheet of everything I add to the sim or change. That way when I see something new, I can see what version I have now. I've installed most of the great improvements to the default aircraft going around, but I put every version number into a spreadsheet so I know exactly what I have. It takes a little bit of work, but will save you tons of headaches down the line, especially a year from now when that list is massive. The way everything works now I don't think there's a better way to manage it, unless someone comes up with a utility that does it. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
