Saitek Combat Rudder Peddles Working erratically

Featured Replies

Hi,  wondering if this has happened to any else or if anyone may have any input. I cannot get my Saitek rudder to work properly in FS2020. I have assigned the "rudder yaw Left & right" as normal,  I have also gone to Sensitivities and ran it through the motions w/o any issues, but then, when I run FS2020,  they work like an 'on' or "off' button. I'll push it to the 50% point w/o any reaction, and then, if I keep pushing, it'll go to 100% instantly.....there's no middle ground or gradual progression, it's like a full on/off button. I've changed sensitivities, I've tried reassigning several times,  all w/o any luck. I'm at a loss....any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you calibrate the pedals in Windows Control Panel?

hi w6kd,

No I did not....I just ran it thru the motions in the FS2020 assignments menu where you see the progress bar and the curve on the graph. I will do what you suggested and I will post post the outcome of the Windows calibration. Thanks for the input.

Have you assigned the rudder to the rudder axis control in the UI? Has to be the rudder axis and not the rudder key command as that's either full on or off. Also when implementing any curves make sure you choose negative % to get a curve that gives you more control at the start of the curve.

Maybe unrelated, but every time after a fresh boot, I find I need to go to the ingame settings, click on sensitivity, and run the pedals through the full range of motion. Otherwise they are way too sensitive.

Hi,  thanks for the comments. I finally got the rudder to work perfectly. I deleted the rudder assignments under "Rudder Left(Yaw Left)  &  Rudder Right(Yaw Right). Then I assigned & calibrated the rudder using under "Primary Control Surfaces", under "Rudder Axis", and using "Joystick R Axis Z", and finally making sure that the" Reverse Axis" box was NOT X'ed. Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem. And thanks for all your input.
