Patch 1.8.3.0 Ruins Converted Aircraft

Hey, it worked!! 😄 😄 😄

The only thing I used from the converter was the interior model file.  I'm going to guess that whatever I did previously to remove the mouse rectangles wasn't done right.  User Error:  Replace user and press any key to continue.

All the stock gauges worked, but I had custom XML processing that wasn't being picked up by my custom gauges.  I converted one of the XML files from <Gauge> format to <SimBase.Document> format with the same script code and it worked perfectly.  I wasn't expecting the other file with the <Gauge> format to work, but it did.  Apparently there was some kind of script error in the first gauge.  This might be why some XML gauges do not work.  I had a similar problem with an earlier aircraft where I had to remove the <Doctype> line to get gauges that previously worked in FSX to work in P3Dv2, and later in P3Dv4.

And thank God!  I was actually considering going back to P3Dv4 rather than flying the stock aircraft.  I did some flights with the C172, Savage Cub and C152 and it just wasn't the same, although the aircraft few well enough.

The new live weather makes quite a bit of difference.  Besides winds aloft (even if they're not quite accurate, they're there), the constant random "turbulence" movement is not present with live weather, only in weather themes.  I had to do more "flying" in the Stearman with live weather. 😄

I can't tell you how much better I feel now.  Thanks to everyone for all your help.

EDIT:  It turns out that one XML gauge that wasn't working was an error I'd introduced myself with an edit I made to attempt to fix a problem with the previous conversion of the model file.  It looks like <Gauge> XML files work without problems, as long as the programmer doesn't introduce them himself. 😄

I’m happy that it worked out for you. I fiddled with a lot of the new options (it’s now build 3.1), but it wasn’t as good as before the update to 1.8.3, so at the end I also said, just concentrate on the model conversion and forget about the rest. And like you, I’m a happy camper again.

AH Bristol Bulldog. Is there any better view? 😄
