September 25, 20205 yr Anyone know how to reduce the G1000 screen brightness ? MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28

September 25, 20205 yr No, that is bone stock. But there is a G1000 mod that fixes the issue even more. James

September 25, 20205 yr Really? Seems to work well enough on mine. I dimmed it at night and it looked fine.

September 25, 20205 yr Hrm. It looks like the SR22 is configured differently from the other planes, it seems like it has the avionics brightness tied to the panel brightness via a method that's built in to support that. I hadn't actually seen anything using that for this purpose that would have allowed me to test code for it, but I must have overlooked the SR22. If you install the mod, you'll have brightness control via a menu on the PFD, but it will disconnect the display from the knob, unfortunately. Glad I noticed this, I'll put it on the list of things to check into before releasing v0.3. Edited September 25, 20205 yr by kaosfere
September 25, 20205 yr The mixture lever doesn't even work and you're worrying about the brightness? 🙂 SAR Pilot. Flight Sim'ing since the beginning.

But at night the full brightness screens are worse then the mixture 🙂 MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28
September 25, 20205 yr I take that back. I just tested it. The hardware knob works in the SR22 but the software menu control doesn't. Not a big deal, probably and better than the other way around. But I'm still going to try to fix it for next time.

If I were an enterprising aircraft builder and I wanted to figure out why the mixture lever might not be working, what sort of things might I look at? Assume that I know that it's not been disabled in engines.cfg.
