QualityWings FMC flightplans and FSX:SE

Featured Replies

Am I correct in thinking that a flightplan created within the FMC in real time (my specific example - QW BAe 146-100 inputting a trip from Liverpool to Galway), is not compatible with FSX default ATC? Barring my failure at somehow not getting the arrival airport to be recognised, the 146's HSI gave me the correct steer-to commands for the other waypoints, so that aspect seems to be fine.

When I tuned to ground they were expecting me to ask for a VFR departure...

Whilst I believe I saved the flightplan, I think it's saved internally to the FMC and not in a location where it can be loaded via the stock FSX flight planner, so after taking off I couldn't then create or open an IFR plan for ATC to recognise.

Why all these noob questions now? You might ask. It's due to me buying these payware aircraft after years of not doing so and attempting to learn how to use the technology they were equipped with .

I never thought I could generate a flightplan in the QW FMC and then load it into FSX ATC. I only tried the opposite (generate FP in FSX, load it into default ATC and then import it into FMC) in both the 757 and the 146. I don't know about the 787, I've had it for less than a week.
