I tried starting at the end of 29 still online and get the top pick.

I then exited back to the main menu, pulled my internet connection, game set me offline, then went back to NZMF from the world map and my view was identical just like the first pick with trees all down the side of the runway. I do have screenshots uploaded but the image url system here does not seem to want to share them.

My manual cache for around the airport is 797KB

Ok, I will give it a try, I have nothing to lose

But what about your rolling cache, is it on? And where are your different caches located, on your C drive or somewhere else?

 

797KB seems very low to me, but last time I manually cached 6 near region, my data consumption went up 1GB, but total files on the manual tool was a couple of MB

So latest test as following :

- Checked all data set to on

- Rolling cache off

- New manual cache on another drive

- Took about 30x30 around the airport in high

- Closed the sim

- Stopped WIFI

- Launching again and starting a flight

 

Same as offline, no improvement 

 

I will now check using rolling cache

 

 

The second one :

- Checked all data set to on

- Rolling cache on, 10GB available

- Deleted manual cache

- Started a flight, with a message, "quality of the connection too bad, would you like to ignore", I pressed ignore

- Airport looks nice, like live stream, even if the quality could be much better

- Stopped the game and WIFI

- Launching again and starting a flight

 

Same as offline, maybe because quality of live streaming was too low and I am using high settings on the sim

 

But still, it's not working at all, If some people got some free time to test this issue It would be very helpful

After hours of test, if I don't get some data on the rolling cache, I will have nothing, in any situation.

Then if I am manually caching the same region, I rolled cached before, set data to off and start a flight without quitting, it will work.

But if I restart the game without wifi, I can't get the prefetch data back.

 

It's so broken, the size in the manual cache tool of 800KB, it's not enough, using SAS planet on the same grid size, zoom level 20, so max resolution, I have 22MB of texture, it does not include DEM or object placement

 

Something is terribly wrong with Manuel Cache?

What sucks, is the fact that since a wide majority of player got some kind ok internet connection, It won't be on the dev backlog for at least a couple of decade

Manuel Manual cache and rolling cache mystify me, quite frankly. Most large areas I've tried manual caching take 90 minutes or so to do and end up being only around 1.5mb in size, despite covering entire cities or 50 square miles. And what difference does it make online? Que?🤔
