Installing Pushback Express on MSFS 2020

Featured Replies

Hi Guys!

Do I run the exe file to install it that will automatically apply this add-on in the simulator OR

Do I move the files generated after running the exe to the "Community Folder" ?

Is this process just a simple install with the exe is what I want to know.

Thanks,

Steven

Hi Steven,

By default the installer will select Program Files.  We suggest using this location.

Do not put it Community Files.

Keep it in Program files.

Don't move any files.

Just double click the short cut desktop icon after FS2020 has loaded.

Cheers,

To run it, the easiest thing to do is put a shortcut on your taskbar. Crank up MSFS, get your flight started at the gate then alt-tab out of the sim, start Pushback Express and away you go.

There is a selectable option in Pushback Express to keep the GUI on top of MSFS. After that it is pretty straightforward, just choose whether you want to drive the tug or not in the options, then basically you start on the left hand side with the buttons on the GUI and work your way across when you are ready to close up, retract the airbridge and push out. You don't even need to read any manual or anything, it's all very intuitive.

It's nice to be able to drive the tug so your aeroplane actually can go to a real tug release point, like it does with a genuine pushback. If you don't know where the airport's real tug release point is for a particular stand, a good rule of thumb is that when an airliner pushes back out for departure, it usually pushes out over the roadway which runs behind the stands onto the taxiway, then once over that road and coming onto the taxiway, it will turn and push back parallel with the roadway. When the airliner's nose wheel is in line with the centreline of the next stand along, that's typically where the tug release point it, so if you stop the push there to disconnect the tug, you will be doing it pretty much like it is done in real life.
