Saitek Quadrant Throttle (PS/2 connector) to usb??

Featured Replies

Hi ,

is there any chance to connect quadrant with ps/2 connector alone to pc without yoke base?

I was traying ps2/usb adapter but with no luck...

any ideas??

Short answer: No, the ps/2 version doesn't come with a USB controller needed for it to work (it uses the yokes when plugged in). Longer version, you could but you would need to build a usb controller to allow the throttle to be recognised etc and to be honest you'd likely be cheaper just buying a usb throttle

Based on the info at the link below I converted an original Saitek TQ with the mini DIN (PS/2) connector to a USB interface (so I could use a different yoke) using an Arduino Leonardo I had on hand (you could also use a Leo Bodnar board). At the time the Arduino was available from AliExpress ( https://www.aliexpress.com/ ) for about $6. Note some Arduinos, such as the Arduino Uno, do not have the necessary USB interface logic.
