October 12, 20205 yr I am new to RNav and I cant seem to find any decent caravan rnav approach videos so I ve got a question . I am mid flight approaching the first and only waypoint before the airport.. I assume after I make that turn for the airport which is 15 miles away that i need to press APR if i want the gps to control my decent.. SOO do I need to turn ALT off ? does it matter? I am under the impression that RNAV will practically put me on the runway? Thanks in advance and sorry if this is on the wrong forum.
October 13, 20205 yr In the real world, you should be able to push APR on the autopilot, once the airplane turns to final in NAV mode. You need to double check that the glideslope indicator is above you, ie you are below the glideslope. The current version of MSFS is broken in several ways, so the glideslope indicator may well be low or not visible at all.. it really is a disappointing mess at present. ☹️ The better way right now, is to use an ILS approach if available.. it has a better chance of working correctly. Or just land by hand 🙂 Bert
