October 15, 20205 yr Hi, Finally the video has loaded to Youtube and processed. Sadly only 720p as there was no way 1080p was going to load in any sort of a reasonable time frame. Anyway, the video is from the World window (so you can see the flight plan) before taking off from the runway in Dusseldorf to finishing drawing up at the gate in Brussels. The takeoff was particularly iffy as the lastest dev build did not have the flaps in pos 1 for takeoff, which is normally the default stating position in prior builds. The landing is also pretty iffy as I decided to let the AP land the plane which was a little optimistic and so we bounced down the runway. HOWEVER, the key ILS section worked perfectly. BTW in the middle I used the mini add-on mod which auto sppeds up the sim as I was getting a little board in the cruise, you can hear the announcer calling out the sim speed. It is very cool little mod as it slows down the sim to normal speed before each waypoint so that the flight plan transistions properly to the next waypoint as it might skip waypoints going at either 2 or 4 times speed. I have tried to show with the mouse key elements either by pointing, making a cross shape for something I did not do or a tick for something I did do. I hope this helps CJ

However I still don't see why it's not holding the LOC at my side. Most of the time we do the same procedures ?? Did you watched my approach movie ? Do you see anything what can explain not holding the LOC ? (perhape you activated the APP/LOC later ? ( I am sure I tried flight also enable the APPR later when the purple diamond is close to the center) I am out of ideas...... Any addons in the community folder ? October 15, 20205 yr No addons - I am using base game with just the Flybywire 320. At the time of the video that was the current DEV build and I have now, in the last 30mins re-run the same flight with the new release build and managed a good takeoff and a lovely landing and the ILS/AP behaved perfectly. I wanted to check just in case there was something funny about the DEV build. I might also give it a go in the Asobo version. I will watch your video later to see what is happening but think from the bits I saw before it looked fine but I will check again now I have flown the route a few times. I am doing nothing strange with my Thrustmaster HOTAS 4 joystick either. It is exactly default settings as per MSFS, no changes to sensitivity or dead zones or anything like that. I have changed a couple of buttons but that is it. I am also going to investigate why the mod is so upset about my flaps on landing. Don't know what that is about but was so concentrating on the landing I did not check the warnings. CJ

CJ I hope you may find an error on my side. could it be something with it being in managed mode vs manual mode at the time of capture. Trying to capture before last waypoint/STAR ? October 16, 20205 yr I have just watched again your video which is in the 12th prost to this thread. I have never turned on LOC in any of my landings. Just after I make the final turn so that I am heading straight for the runway then I turn on approach mode. The plane then flies itself in from there. CJ

CJ Yes this was LOC first and appr when glideslope is there. Normally I do appr. Will try again and enable later. See what happens. Strange enough when not following the Flightplan then the ILS is perfect. ANOTHER thing I have that when I disconnect the AP for manual landing the plane is still not responding !!! Strange enough when not following the Flightplan then the ILS is perfect. ANOTHER thing I have that when I disconnect the AP for manual landing the plane is still not responding !!! I have just done another flight this time just turning on LOC before the final turn and my place still behaved perfectly, the diamond scrolled over from left to right and then held onto the center position and I used the MFD screen you had used and the long purple line came over to the middle as the diamond moved and then stayed in the middle rather than drifitng through as per the video of your approach. I left the plane this way between the two waypoints on the final approach that at constrained at 2000ft. Then at the second one I turned on Approach and off LOC and it flew down the glide slope and landed. I did notce that the plus sign on the purple line was right over the top of the runway, I need to check your vid again as I think yours was off to the left, might be my memory but will look at your video again. EDIT - Nope just looked at your video again and the purple plus sign was pretty much right on the runway line to begin with before it started drifting back as the diamond overshot. So that is not the issue - was thinking that maybe the beacon location was out on your version. I have run out of ideas. My only thought now is a delete of the game and a complete re-install from scratch but I would only go that route if you had really fast internet. Mine is only 18meg and it would take a long time. October 16, 20205 yr Mmmm - in that vid he is saying that the ILS freq is correct but the course direction is wrong versus his chart and, I guess, what it needs to be to hit the runway. Will go back into the SIM to see what ILS course my sim has for Brussels and then maybe you can check if yours is the same. CJ

October 16, 20205 yr Author Did Anoher flight with open descend (you must try something) Late enable of the LOC this time (still the same issue diamond slowly drifting to the right) Again when breaking away from the planned pattern (flightplan) the LOC is correct. Will upload video now. I am done for now. No idea why ALL my approaches end op left on the runway, Tried all options for 10 flight pe day and 7 timer per week for weeks now. October 16, 20205 yr Author Did another approach without following the flightplan. Picking up the LOC perfectly. But the closer you get to the airport the more the diamond drifts to the right ending up again left of the runway. Always LEFT of the runway !! Every approach at airports I tried in the EU ending up left of the runway. Sometimes it's time to accept things how they are. I am sure it's something with FS2020 in combination with other factors at my end. For NOW I am done. (weeks and weeks tried to solve this) Thanks for all the help and input Back to P3DV5 (step back for graphics) MSI Tomahawk Z790, I7-13700K, DDR5 6000mhz, MSI 4090, 3x SSD 980 PRO, Corsair 360 Liguid CPU cooler, Corsair H1200V2 power.
October 16, 20205 yr If I was in your position I would go down the uninstall re-install route. Sorry not to be able to find the answer. CJ
