Game pass

Featured Replies

In case of activation of FS2020 with game pass, for a period of one month if I understand correctly, is there any other type of limitation for the number of hours or flights applied to this form of use of the simulator? And if you want to switch to the definitive license, in particular the Premium Deluxe, should you do a further download and a new installation, or just a simple activation of the purchased license? Thanks for the clarifications

MSFS 2020 will work as long as your Game Pass subscription is active. It will work identically to anyone who has bought it outright. If your don't pay for the subscription you will no longer be able to access it.

I` ve been using the game-pass "version" since it was released.

As long as it is in game-pass you can play it through gamepass.

If you buy it it will be the same as the gamepass version, if you get deluxe it will just give you the option to download the extra planes and airports.

I made the mistake of buying the Premium Deluxe for $85 via the Xbox Gamepass. If you are going to buy it and don't see yourself using gamepass long term, don't buy it via gamepass because it will no longer let you play it as soon as you stop making the gamepass monthly payments. Buy the license outside of the Xbox Game Pass. I paid $85 for the Premium Deluxe and then had to pay an additional $120 ($205+tax) to keep it without paying a monthly fee to Xbox gamepass. Although I only used the gamepass for less than a month and explained my mistake to Microsoft requesting a refund on the $85, the response was a simple NO.

Any purchases you made via the market place should be valid.  Had you ordered the $60 version from the Microsoft store using the same credentials you used in Game Pass, then you should have been able to install and your marketplace purchases, including the upgrades should have been available.

Exactly what I did (Premium Deluxe for $85) and exactly what didn't happen, which why I called Microsoft and that was a no go.

That makes no sense.  All market place purchases should retain.  It would be the same thing if they suddenly denied you access to the airports and 3rd party stuff you purchased.

I understand them requiring you to purchase the base package, but your purchased upgrade should have followed.  I'm in the same boat as you are but plan on keeping Game Pass awhile.  I'm going to call someone well in advance and see what the scoop is.  Sometimes you have to raise a huge stink to get past the L1 person who's just trying to get you off the phone.

And just in case, I'm going to take screenshots of my purchased items as proof of purchase.

Sorry to say, been there done that and no go. I am only sharing my experience in case others run into the same problem. I hope your experience is 100% different. Feel free to PM me and we can chat more about it if you'd like. Glad to share.

Most likely any marketplace purchases will only work with the game pass.
