October 19, 20205 yr Hey I was wondering if there is still a problem with A320 flying RNAV approaches or is it something I am doing wrong, and if so I appreciate some pointers to fix it. So here's the problem. Once I am on the part of the approach that is the RNAV the AP still follows the path lateral direction but when I press the approach button on the AP the pane never actually start to descent just keeps on its bath and that is that. I am not very familiar with how to use RNAV but from watching few YouTube tutorials it seems pretty simple, once Flt Plan was created using SID/STARS once on approach it is already in FMC and pressing Approach on FMC suppose to make the aircraft follow both lateral and vertical path.. I tried few ways like for example using Managed Altitude set to 1800ft for example I was testing it in LOWI, the i tried just set altitude to 1800 but not managed mode... which I was also having problems with getting the AP to follow it just stayed at lets say 7000ft... but anyhow I understood that after pressing APRCH once on RNAV the aircraft should follow vertical path but it does not.. so i was wondering if anyone can send some pointers or is it A320's one of AP errors BTW I have no problem with it following SID's basically I set initial altitude limit in AP and then increase this as ATC gives me permission to climb and tick Managed Alt and plane starts to climb next leg... so I was thinking it should work the same during RNAV but it does not work. I tired it in both FlyByWire version and default, pretty much both did not work right, that is the only part of the flight where I am having some strange AP behavior other then the rapid turn to right for no reason but that is seldom so i can live with it. Thanks for any insights Edited October 19, 20205 yr by AndyCYXU Andy Home Cockpit B737
