October 27, 20205 yr Seems, a few days ago, the spotters at what used to be my local airport got all excited when a rare Russian jet visited. Antonov AN-74 was the culprit that got the plane spotters in an excited quiver. All frothing at the mouth they were and some say wetting their pants in excitement. https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/look-rare-soviet-era-plane-19143116 Not familiar with this plane, but it looks like a blown wing design, with thrust directed over the top of the wing to generate more lift. October 27, 20205 yr Quote The aircraft was initially designed for use in less hospitable environments such as the arctic and Siberia. ...ideal for Birmingham then Yes, a blown wing design. Has the added benefit of less chance of FOD ingestion too I think. And I was a bit further south where its posh and our atmospheric weather control systems from Area 51 kept it even warmer. Now in Guernsey, and the other day walked up to the bay and people were swimming in the sea IN OCTOBER. Gulfstream flows past here but all the same, atrophy of the man parts must have been severe. No Vader masks here or any masks at all. We had a few virus cases recently but all from one flight from Isle of man, so one source. Air bridge is suspended now. Amazing work from the authorities here. Warning! Covid talk now suspended. Not allowed. Quickly moving on...
