Having a problem buying the GTN750 / 650

Featured Replies

I am having a problem getting this buying process started. First tapped on Download E-commerce installer, next unzipped to folder of choice, tried to open, window 10 would not allow, Anti virus and firewall both turned off. Tried tapping on Download 30% and 50% coupons, got downloaded but not getting to purchase screen yet... Tried following install directions step by step but no luck. Could use a little help here. Thanks

The installer that you download is an executable.

What happens when you run it?

When I tap Download E-Commerce Installer, it tries to download " rxpGTN-750-XPL.exe" I try to double click on it but nothing happens. Download folder shows it there but a statement that it is blocked. I do not know how to allow it to be executed.

OK thank you!! Will try.. and next question... can I download the installer on laptop, pay and download  the GTN750/650 on laptop to a USB memory and install on desktop sim?

And if I can download the GTN750/650 to a USB drive and transfer to desktop, I know it is in Plugins but where and what folder does it get installed into?

And also the Garmin GTN Trainer, where does it get installed?

Been looking at all the forums for helpful info but I cant seem to find it ...  Thanks for help!

Desktop has windows OS on C:, and x-plane is on E:

You can always download the e-commerce installer and pay on the laptop. Once the purchase is validated and the e-commerce installer is about to proceed, cancel the installation.

Then you can run the e-commerce installer on the desktop, fill your F1 account credentials, hit the REINSTALL button and once the license is authenticated online, it will proceed with installation.

However why not just running the e-commerce installer and do the payment on the desktop directly?

Ok Thanks for the help.

The reason I wanted to do the download on the laptop, was to eliminate problems causing any issues with the x-plane sim computer. I only use the desktop for the sim, only have x-plane software running on it. So I need to run the E commerce installer on the desktop where X-plane is installed?

So do I need to download the Garmin GTN Trainer separately or is it also included with the other downloads? if not and I download it on my own, is it installed on the OS drive 😄 or the drive that X-Plane is on, E:

You can always manually download and install the trainer on your own, but our installer is taking care of this for you (in addition to validating you do have a supported trainer version).

As for the trainer installation path it seems some users have had problems sometimes when installing the trainer in another drive than "C: " . As a matter of fact, there are 2 parts: a small bunch of executable files (the GTN trainer) which is best installed to the default location (C:\Program Files (x86)) and a larger bunch of database files which most likely will be fine if installed in another drive. The total trainer installation is about 2.5GB.

As for the RXP GTN installation, you have to authenticate your license on the computer which will be running the product.
