VC gauges unreadable - help please!

Featured Replies

I've noticed, particularly flying some of the missions involving the jets, that the gauges are are a little 'too far away' and/or blurry making them almost impossible to read.Short of doing the missions using 2D cockpits or stepping up the screen resolution (thereby reducing framerates), is there anything I can do to 'sharpen' the gauges up?(Current screen res is 1024 x 768 and latest graphics driver installed.)Thanks for any suggestions.Toni.

I've found that turning Global Texture Resolution to Max makes the gauges very crisp and I don't get a performance hit. Also, you may try zooming in the default VC setting of .69 to maybe .75Hope this helps some.Jim

Oh, ... but you should go to display, aircraft, and check - high resolution VC cockpit.

yeah, what Jim said, all you really can do is zoom up temporarily...that's what I do

>yeah, what Jim said, all you really can do is zoom up>temporarily...that's what I doAlso some panels can be clicked on to get a high resimage, but it may only be the 737-800 that allows thatat this point. The lear and 747 don't do that. But on the 737, you can click on any of the screens, and you will get a high res "pop up" image that is easyto read. You click again to dump it. I suspect many of the newer panels for FSX may use that in the future. It can be done anyway.. I'm not sure if any of the otherFSX aircraft have that. Might only be the 737. I haven't checked each one yet. IE: airbus, etc..BTW, yea, I agree.. The usual fix is to just zoom in a bitfor a while, and then I zoom back out to normal rangewhen done. I'll usually run about in the 40's range as far as zoom.. IE: the lear's normal zoom is appx 45%, and I roll the top of the picture right where it meets the visor. Sometimes I'll need to zoom in a bit to read something small, being I'm usually running low res at 1078x768 to scrape extra fps. MK

I've noticed this too, especially with labels. For example, when flying the C172, the labels for the toggle switches (i.e., fuel pump, lights, etc.) are unreadable. Any ideas on how to fix that?Bob
