Using XBOX for MSFS2020 - Some Help to Try

Featured Replies

Folks I'm a PC guy principally.

But, we have an XBox in our house that my adult children use to play minecraft and a bunch of other online games.  I don't want to dive into MSFS2020 yet on a PC, I don't want to port over from Win7 Pro to Win10.  My PC is humming along nicely for my P3D and XP sims, "if it ain't broke, don't "fix" it".

I am totally word not allowed of how to use XBox, never cared to learn or play those games etc.

If I understand it correctly, I supposedly can use XBox.  Can someone please enlighten me one what I need to do to download or subscribe to play MSFS2020 on the XBox?  I know there is a thing called gamepass but I'm also a ludyte on what to do with that as well.  Trust me this is, "I'm 70 years old" and not a "gamer" issue.

I want to try out MSFS2020 out and thought I could give it a go on an XBox.  Also I don't know a bloody thing about those controllers with all the buttons and knobs.

Oh, well this does show how out of touch I am.  I thought that I had been seeing folks talking about XBox.

Too bad, thanks very much for updating me.

The confusion lies in the fact that the program (app) that MSFS is accessed on via PC is the Xbox app, even though you are not using an Xbox games console to do so!

Makes sense I was hearing about Xbox but didn't have a clue about the context.
