This is how Venice, Italy, not exactly some obscure place, is rendered in a vanilla XP 12.4 If you are happy with the above then you are far away from what many simmers want in a flight sim. This is not to discredit the many excellent features of XP12 by all means, I just cannot comprehend how you can be satisfied with the current scenery. Even if you only fly airliners and only cruise above 30000 feet and never takeoff or land. Anyway, we know LR is working on next-gen but until then there is no alternative to some sort of aerial imagery. Also Jan, are you not partially employed by Laminar? Or an external contributor highly regarded by the team?

There is no paid version of autoortho. You are likely thinking of XP Map Enhancement. Keep in mind Laminar does not really like the use of these tools and immediately ban any discussion of them in their discord for reasons that were discussed at lengths here before

Quick fix for you, uncheck the beta flag and make sure you are not running the SAM plugin, that should help a lot.

Not true, there are many ways to overcome TPM and Secureboot restrictions. A 30 seconds thing. And there are many ways to remove the Microsoft bloatware that comes with it, again an extremely simple thing. But anyway, super off topic, sorry. Back on topic, I wish there were more developers like Marko from X-Crafts, he even made the previous gen E-Jets available for free.

Extended night lighting is possible with a hack that modifies default files, not an ideal solution as it might cause all kind of other issues. You have been warned 😁 Hopefully the Next-Gen scenery will take care of that. Some form of frame generation, antialiasing and maybe upscaling will come with the planned implementation of motion vectors. That might release some load from GPU allowing mid range hardware to perform decently.
