Seems according to Philip, this next beta may be a little bit bigger than anticipated, so we wait and see. Seems they added stuff//

I like the sound of that!

Just wondering if its safe enough to opt into a beta with xplane as in - will it totally mess up my addons? Or as a rule does everything just seem to work? Cheers

Depends. Usually dont have any issues, butbi dont run a gazxilion addins. You can make a copy of your xplane folder and update to the beta. Ivrun 3 copies. One is a backup, one us needed for gateway airports, and one i update. Others are updated when main becomes final

You can roll back to the latest stable release at any time.

My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

Did they break Vysnc? Latest beta causes nothing but stutters, No matter my setting the frames just run amuck and won't lock at my refresh rate.

Mike, there is workaround posted at the org, hope it fix the issue for you, I don't see stutters everywhere yet with 12.4.4 B1, maybe a very subtle one every few seconds, I'm yet to try this workaround too. According to that you should add in your X-Plane shortcut window in target field "--gfx_no_defragment" next to X-Plane.exe. This is the link, good luck:

I found a fix and it allows me to use the latest graphics drivers from Nvidia. it's the --lock_fr=30 I no longer have to run at half the refresh rate. It's like butter now!

Thanks

Ah, the lock_fr command, yes, very useful too, good to know you sorted out this.

The sim itself is usually fine. It’s all the addons everyone has that suffer glitches.

Best practice to install another copy (it’s allowed in the license), and the upgrade that to the Beta.

Keep the Beta relatively streamlined with just a couple addons.

That way you can easily disable the offenders, and or fall back to your earlier version.
