May 7May 7 Does anyone else have this? I am on short final, then all of a sudden, a split-second stutter, and the weather (clouds and visibility) suddenly changes. The sky goes from clear to cloudy in an instant. No weather addons in use.
May 7May 7 I haven‘t had it as extreme as you describe. But I absolutely withess something like a flash and the sky colours (and haze) changing within 1 sec. But the cloud coverage seemed to stay more or less identical as it happened (every 30-60 minutes as an estimate) i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM
May 7May 7 Interesting discovery. After the latest update, my two friends and I noticed this problem. So far, five people from different PCs, internet providers, and locations have encountered it. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Like the other day it was clear and 91F here in PDX and XP12 showed heavy cloud cover … after about 20 minutes it thinned out a little but didn’t match real world weather at all (clear sky all day). It’s definitely hit or miss on how the live weather is depicted … sometimes it’s very close and sometimes it way off. I do use HiFi weather also, but not enable in this case. May 7May 7 Commercial Member Does it happen also with ActiveSky that uses METAR? Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

I did not notice this issue until ASOBO's latest update. It looks like the same, new update, new bugs. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

I don't want to stir the pot, but I think you switched the forums or Laminar Research with Asobo. 🙂 Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

You asked whether this also happens with Active Sky, which uses METAR data. Let me answer again clearly: yes, it does. This issue started after the latest ASOBO update. Before that update, it was not happening. I hope this finally clears up the misunderstanding. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Asobo has nothing to do with X-Plane. Also, Active Sky exist/supports both MSFS and X-Plane. Yes, you are 100% correct. I have both (XP12 and MSFS) and have been having the same issue, reacting completely wrong based on MSFS. SORRY! 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

No worries, happens to the best of us. Speaking of ActiveSky, its trademark is a sudden change of weather, in both MSFS and XP. It's simply how it works. It loads new METAR data every X minutes (depends on what we choose in the options), and some weather stations apparently change METAR data on every 30 or even 60 minutes, so for example during approach, weather can change from CAVOK to 6/8 cumulus, and it ruins the immersion. I've learned to ignore that, but it's not easy when you know that default weather depiction has (had) smooth transitions.
