Fun little quirk @ KBNA

Recommended Posts

Landed at Nashville Intl (KBNA) last night and noticed a fun little quirk.  As I was taking to parking, I noticed a bunch of traffic (cars, not airline equipment) that appeared to be on the actual taxiway.  As I got closer, I noticed cars going by right in front of me.  Made it to the gate and shut down.  Found out there is a highway that runs underneath the taxiway between the runways and the terminal/parking.  Noticed today when I took off that the cars actually appear to start to go under the taxiway but not quite. Just one of those quirks when you're using satellite imagery.

Yes, this happens at a number of airports which have roads underneath the runway. Same issue, I suppose, as cars driving under bridge models.

It's worse on taxiway G at CYOW. The road is below grade as it goes underneath the taxiway. Unfortunately, the taxiway dips to the road level then back up. Quite the ride.

Ouch!!!!  At least this one didn't mess up the taxiway.  The road goes underneath and the taxiway is level.

I had this happen with Taxi2Gate's KSTL, Lambert St Louis Intl. in FSX and FSX SE.  Had to add an exclusion to block the traffic.  The highway traffic was across 11/29, which also has a tunnel under it.  Has anyone landed on 11/29 at KSTL in MFS?

Have no idea how to add an exclusion in MFS.

Really?  CYOW is my home and never noticed.  I never go by taxiway G either, will have to try.

However, across the river at CYND there is a huge radio tower right in the middle of the runway.

It's mine too.

I found when I picked a gate at the back of the terminal. It's been a while though (release version) so not sure if it's still there. I should check it out...

Haven't been over to CYND yet. Will have to check that out as well. I also found a control tower right on the runway at the approach end of 33L at CYYZ. Haven't been back for a while, so again not sure if it is still there...

I went CYOW this morning and taxied around in the Icon.  There was a good dip where the road crossed the taxiway.  I tried turning and following the road and it was violent enough to flip the plane.  I've never noticed the issue at YYZ, I'll have to look next time I'm there.
