November 2, 20205 yr I'm on the fence about upgrading my 9900k/2080S to a 10900k/3080. I fly in 1080, 100 render scale with most sliders on high/ultra. If I move to a 3080 will I see a big increase in FPS? Can I increase my render scale and get fluid FPS?
November 2, 20205 yr MSFS is more or less CPU limited at 1920x1080. That CPU upgrade will only do little to help that. Unless you are going to get a 2K or 4K monitor with that upgrade, IMO overall there is very little you will gain by it. For that money, you'd now be better off with a top end 4K monitor and a 3080 (or big navi) card, and wait a bit for the next gen CPUs before upgrading the rest.
